About this program
A Lady Health Visitor is often the first and only health professional a family in a village will see. You learn to look after women through pregnancy and after birth, to check on the growth and health of young children, to give vaccinations, and to spot the cases that need to go to a hospital quickly.
Much of the work happens outside a hospital, in basic health units and in people’s homes. It suits someone patient, practical, and comfortable talking to families about health in a way they will actually listen to.
