About this program
Kidney patients depend on dialysis to stay alive, often several times a week for years. You learn how the kidneys work and what happens when they fail, how a dialysis machine works, how to prepare and run a session, and how to watch a patient closely throughout it.
You see the same patients again and again, so the relationship matters. The work needs someone reliable, steady, and alert to small changes, because a problem during dialysis has to be caught early.
What you will learn
- Understand kidney function and what happens in kidney failure
- Prepare and operate a dialysis machine
- Set up and monitor a dialysis session safely
- Watch for complications and respond correctly
- Maintain strict infection control on the unit
- Keep treatment records and support patients through long term care
Where this can take you
Dialysis technicians work in hospital renal units and in the growing number of private dialysis centres. Kidney disease rates in Pakistan mean this skill is increasingly needed.
