About this program
A community midwife is trained to manage a normal delivery safely and, just as importantly, to recognise the moment a delivery stops being normal. You learn antenatal care, the stages of labour, safe delivery technique, care of the newborn in its first hours, and postnatal follow up.
This is skilled, serious work with two lives in the room. It suits someone calm under pressure who can make a clear decision quickly and knows the limits of what should be handled outside a hospital.

Where this can take you
Community midwives work in maternity homes, basic health units, private clinics, and their own community practice. It is one of the most needed skills in rural Punjab.
